ADDITIVES
What are these products?
The reactivity of polyester resins can be adjusted using the following additives:
- Inhibitors optimize the mixing ratio to extend pot life and/or improve the storage stability of pre-accelerated resins.
- Accelerators for polyester resins increase reactivity, directly influencing pot life, curing time, and exothermic peak.
- An additive to reduce peak temperature is used to adjust the temperature of the exothermic peak.
- Anti-shrink additives are employed to minimize shrinkage during the curing process, ensuring dimensional stability and reducing internal stresses in the cured resin.
- A promoter is also used to maximize the reactivity of a polyester resin, promoting faster, more efficient curing. This specialized compound plays a crucial role in increasing polymerization speed without compromising other key material properties.
Modifying this reactivity requires specific expertise in the field.
