Distribution of Glass Fibre
Direct Roving: Used primarily for pultrusion and filament winding, available from 300 tex to 9600 tex, with various sizings to match resin types and applications.
Spray Up Roving: Assembled rovings of 2400 tex with specific sizing for good cutting properties and compatibility with polyester resins, typically used with a chopper gun.
Chopped Fibres: Available up to 12 mm, used as reinforcement in casting systems and bonding pastes.
Chopped Strand Mats (CSM): Made from randomly oriented fibres connected by binders that dissolve in polyester resin. Available from 100 to 900 g/m², with fibre tex typically 30 Tex, but fine tex (15 Tex) options are also available.
Continuous Filament Mats: Composed of continuous fibres bonded with a styrene-soluble binder, commonly used for RTM and pultrusion.
Woven Rovings: Plain weave fibreglass roving that enhances composite strength due to a high fibreglass/resin ratio. Available in various weights and weaves (e.g., square, twill), and compatible with Polyester, Vinylester, and Epoxy resins.
Fabrics: Available in a variety of weaving patterns (Twill and Plain weave) and weights from 80 to 1200 g/m², with finer fibres for better aesthetics. Resin compatibility is defined by the sizing of the input material.
Non-Crimp Fabrics – Multiaxials: Fabrics with stretched fibres in layers for optimal mechanical force absorption, available as unidirectional, bidirectional, triaxial, and quadriaxial types.
Combi-Mat: A combination of woven roving and stitched mat, available in standard versions such as 300/300 (300 g/m² woven roving + 300 g/m² CSM) and 800/450 (800 g/m² woven roving + 450 g/m² CSM).
