Carbon prepregs
Prepregs are pre-impregnated fabrics using a pre-defined resin system (usually epoxy). Prepregs are processed using vacuum, press and/or autoclave production techniques. Curing temperature and cycle will be defined by the resin system used (with a minimum of 80°C). They will need to be at cooled temperature for transport and storage.
Selecting a prepreg, on will have to define:
- The supporting matrix : a carbon fibre reinforcement (woven or non-crimp fabric)
- A resin system depending on the manufacturing processes and required performances of the part
